June 2020:
Vikrant is back at its usual spot at CSL after spending a few weeks at Ernakulam wharf. While a quick look at the configuration of the secondary radar may raise some eyebrows. However, there won't be any blind spots, ESM and MF-STAR will see to that. The Indian Navy is building its own version of AEGIS around MF-STAR- The centerpiece of a truly networked combat system. As of ECM, the carrier is likely to be equipped with DLRL's Shakti (DRFM-based, multi-beamforming transmitters)

The carrier was actually supposed to be fitted with an RAN-40L long-range radar unit from Leonardo but India banned the company on corruption charges. India has ordered 23 units of Lanza 3D Naval Radar, they will be replacing ubiquitous RAWL-02 MK3 radar.Aircraft carrier INS Vikrant being shifted to Ernakulam Wharf as the dredging work is carried out at the Cochin Shipyard in Kochi, Friday, May 22, 2020. Top two reasons for delays in the delivery of the carrier :
- Delays in Aviation Facilities Complex design led to a shift in the delivery date of the ship by 4 years. Russias were blamed for the delay even though the Directorate of Naval Design (DND) didn't finish the design on time.
- Hull fabrication commenced even before the outfit design was complete so that the build-period could be reduced. It ended up causing even more delays and cost-escalations
