Thoughts About the New Uttam AESA RADAR- MK1A (and some other stuff)

So, defense nuts recently nicked pics of a new variant (same but different) of Uttam Active Phased Array Radar. The tender was unusually information-rich (for a critical piece of technology slated to equip a combat aircraft). In case, that wasn't enough, LRDE proceeded to publish a screenshot of an MFD displaying tracking information. In the screenshots, Uttam appears to be keeping a 'FOX3-worthy' lock at a Tejas well beyond 140 kilometers and that's really something. Tejas easily has the lowest radar signature (for a non-stealth combat aircraft) in its class. Air-to-Air mode is where Uttam has exceeded expectations. It also has advanced NCTR and imaging capabilities. Another thing, there is a misconception that Uttam's operating power is 3.6KW,_ okay, no, it's not. Uttam AESA radar: Everything you need to know

The Uttam is an advanced active phased array radar (APAR) system being developed by Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) for the HAL Tejas and other combat aircraft of Indian Air Force. Development of Uttam started in 2008 and it was first unveiled at Aero India 2009. Uttam is slated to be a successor to hybrid passive electronically scanned array radar EL/M-2032 currently equipping LCA Tejas. Radar is currently being integrated with an LCA. Initial details of High Power Radar (HPR)

In 2016, the Indian Ministry of Defence issued a Request For Information (RFI) for procurement for 12 High Power Radar for Indian Airforce. The approval to buy the radars was given at DAC meeting chaired by Defence Minister N. Sitharaman. The High Power Radars will be replacing decades-old THD-1955 3-D radars which have a maximum range 600 km. High Power Radar (HPR): The HPR is an Active Phased Array Radar (APAR) based on modern Solid State technology. These radars will be completely static and provide seamless 360-degree coverage by 4 planner arrays. The HPR will be able to detect targets of 2m2 RCS at a distance of 450km. The radar has advanced ECCM and targets classification features. It is able to resolve target in four dimensions (4-D) namely Range, Azimuth, Height, and Doppler velocity.
